3 Things I’d Tell The Past Version of Myself — Yow!

This is the first time I’m doing this. Dug dug, dug dug — — that’s a heart beat!

People say you should be competing only with yourself. They say that you should also compare yourself now with the past version of yourself.

Well, here is my take. I don’t want to compete with the past version of myself. I refuse to see her as a competition. I choose to see her as an ally.

As an ally, here are the things for her:

Yow, Pongzkie (my nickname), here we go!

  1. You were never a loser.

You never wanted to be ahead someone. You just wanted to express your humor and creativity. Which is why memes make you happy. Which is why you hung out on 9gag in the past. Right? Hahahaha.

I never treated you as a loser. That would have been disrespectful to all the things you went through. Nope.

I give credit to all those. I give credit to the things you chose. Your choices are yours. You had your reasons. You had your reservations. I understand that.

And your curiosity? We’re just scratching the surface. You never shy about what you want to be in the future. You don’t say much. That’s okay. Keep doing you.

Around mid-2019. I bleached my whole head and colored my hair differently depending on my mood. :)

2. We were never against each other.

I love that you decided to not out-best yourself every day. Guuuuurl, that would have been soooo exhausting. We don’t need that pressure in our lives. Hahahaha.

I love that you’ve been laid back through all this process. I love that you don’t push yourself in an unhealthy way. I love all of it. Thank you for deciding that.

Now, since we were never against each other, could you please fix your sleep pattern. Please stop scrolling till you fall asleep because you know you won’t. You know you’ll think again of something. You know ideas will be in your mind. You know you’ll want to engage. Just stop already.

I understand you long to just be creative and go with your creative flow. I get that. But please don’t sacrifice your sleep again. It isn’t worth it. Well, okay maybe for some series and for super lazy days. Ugggh.

3. Thank you for being strong and standing up for your decisions.

This year has been a so good for you. Thank you for being strong enough to take care of your body, even when you lose sleep. Thank you for not pushing yourself to maintain heavy workout when you feel tired. That’s awesome. I dig that. You still get to spend time being creative after working out just right.

Thank you for standing up when people try to question your decisions. You know they mean well, but yup. You’re strong. Thank you for choosing to not be bothered when their faces say the disappointment sometimes. That’s okay. We don’t aim to always please. Hahahahahahaha.

You know what? Thank you for removing yourself from situations that disrespect you. That’s massive! And for speaking up when you need to!

Love,

Sandra who shuffle dances in the present. Ahahahaha.
